Sharan, who was shortlisted for the Good Nurse Award for the Great North East Care Awards in 2014, has previous experience includes working with adults who have challenging behaviour, autism and learning disabilities.

Rahul Sharma, Chief Executive of Careline Lifestyles said of her appointment: “I am especially pleased to see Sharan appointed as the new Registered Home Manager as she has demonstrated continuously what an important member of our team she is since first joining us in 2013.

“She was recruited as a nurse and progressed rapidly to become deputy manager, so to now see her appointed as the new Manager of Lyons Court is a wonderful step both for Sharan and for Careline Lifestyles as a progressive employer, clearly demonstrating the opportunities that exist for staff to develop their careers within the business.”

Sharan said: “I’m really looking forward to the new challenges this role will bring, including delivering person focused care to our residents, as well as motivating and supporting staff to develop their potential. Government guidelines and the Social Care Act set high standards for the whole team to deliver and I will also be developing the EMI Unit for specialist dementia, delivering training, organising activities and conducting handovers in order to improve and evolve the service available at Lyons Court.”
